fun fall activities near los angeles

The City of Industry, CA is just a short drive away from mega-tourist spot Los Angeles, CA. There are plenty of ways you can enjoy autumn in the region, starting with these fantastically fun fall activities.

1. Fall Harvests

Come October, Mr. Jack O’ Lantern’s Pumpkin Patch serves up not one, but three memorable experiences in LA. Take your pick from 6333 W. 3rd St., 17520 Prairie Ave., or 11852 Santa Monica Blvd. No matter your destination, you’ll be treated to incredible activities celebrating all things fall’s favorite gourd, from pumpkin carving to pumpkin bowling. And celebrate the holiday of spooks with a frightening tour through the Halloween corn maze.

Visit from around 11 in the morning until eight at night, with extended hours on weekends. For a less spooky outing, get a pumpkin patch start in mid-September at Tanaka Farms (5380 3/4 University Dr.). From 9 AM to 6 PM through October, pick to your heart’s content at the vegetable patch, embark on a wagon ride, or interact with the petting zoo’s cute animals.

2. Oktoberfest

Grand Central Market in downtown is making a splash with its entrance into the world’s most famous German festival, serving up authentic Bavarian spirits from brewers like Paulaner. For just $15, enjoy all the drinks, live music, contests, and delicious food that are synonymous with Oktoberfest.

At the Fairplex on 1101 McKinley Ave., rock away with oompah bands on Fridays and Saturdays in October. Or brave the chicken dance while chomping on delicious bratwurst and sweet corn. And gearheads can’t miss the Das Kar show, featuring iconic German rides. Keep your fun on the light side by drinking responsibly, in moderation, and only when you’re of age. And don’t ruin the fun by drinking and driving.

3. Cultural Celebrations

Greater LA’s diversity is on full display during fall. The Moompetam Festival at the Aquarium of the Pacific (100 Aquarium Way) celebrates indigenous cultures in early September. Later in the month, the aquarium’s Baja Splash Cultural Festival honors Hispanic Heritage Month. Latin America’s Day of the Dead gets its day at 6000 Santa Monica Blvd.-based Hollywood Forever’s Dia y Noche de los Muertos event in late October. Plus, marvel at the talents of dearly departed stars during cemetery movie screenings.

The rich cultural history of the City of Industry can be appreciated anytime at 15415 Don Julian Rd.’s Workman and Temple Family Homestead Museum. Take a behind-the-scenes tour of this historic landmark during select days in September. Tour all of Industry and LA with confidence in a premium city car: the roomy all-wheel-drive Subaru Impreza.

4. Halloween Haunts

Face the big screen’s most famous monsters up-close at Halloween Horror Nights: a Universal Studios Hollywood attraction based on 100 Universal City Plaza.

Fellow theme park extraordinaire Disneyland (1313 Disneyland Dr.) gets down with the Oogie Boogie Bash, the Main Street Pumpkin Festival, and other festive events during September and October. And don’t forget Descanso Gardens at 1418 Descanso Dr. In October, they host fall favorite CARVED: an artsy pumpkin decorating paradise featuring 200 attractions.

Select a Subaru for any season. Visit Puente Hills Subaru and browse an inventory as showstopping as autumn’s changing leaves.
