The 2024 Subaru Outback is an incredible mid-size SUV ready to take on all of your lifestyle demands. From running errands to taking a quick weekend camping trip in Southern California, the Outback is outfitted with practical features optimized for performance, such as the 2.5-liter engine that generates 182 horsepower and 176 lb-ft of torque.
1. Symmetrical AWD
The 2024 Outback entry-level trim is the Base model. Like all other models in the Outback lineup this year, the Base trim is equipped with Subaru’s symmetrical AWD drivetrain. This drivetrain is specially designed to optimize wheel traction on all terrains by continually leveling out the acceleration, cornering, and braking power between all four wheels.
This Outback model also has a maximum towing capacity of 2,700 lbs, which is more than enough to haul a camper or small boat. The Base model even comes with an X-MODE that optimizes the output of the engine to enhance the vehicle dynamic control system, which can improve traction even on low-traction roads. The Base model has a fuel economy of 33 MPG on the interstate and 26 MPG in the city.
2. STARLINK Infotainment
The Base model comes with a dual seven-inch multimedia screen to house the STARLINK infotainment system. This HD screen supports touchscreen controls to easily toggle between SiriusXM radio, SiriusXM Travel Link, HD radio, hands-free Bluetooth, and smartphone integrated applications like Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. A four-speaker audio system is standard for this model.
3. EyeSight Safety
All Outback trims come with a set of EyeSight driver assistance safety technology. Standard EyeSight features are pre-collision braking, lane departure with sway warning, lane keep assist, advanced adaptive cruise control, and automatic emergency steering. The pre-collision braking system works by monitoring the area in front of the vehicle to alert you about potential obstacles and automatically apply the brakes to avoid an accident.
The lane departure with sway warning feature ensures you stay centered in your lane, and offers some steering support to intervene if the vehicle begins to sway into a different lane. Automatic emergency steering can activate to briefly steer the vehicle around an obstacle that might cause a collision.
4. Cargo Flexibility
The Outback Base trim also has several versatile cargo features to maximize how much you can haul and improve your cargo area organization. This model has a removable cargo area tray, tie-down hooks to keep luggage secure, and convenient grocery bag hooks to make your errands easier to manage. This trim also comes with an underfloor storage area to keep precious cargo out of sight.
The 2024 Outback is full of savvy standard features to help make your next drive safer and more convenient. It’s perfect for taking out on the roads in Los Angeles. Take a test drive at Puente Hills Subaru in City of Industry, CA.
