Your Guide to the 2023 Subaru WRX

The Subaru name is synonymous with rallying, and the 2023 Subaru WRX brings this history to a road car. This rally-inspired sedan has been styled and set up to mirror the vehicles of its racing inheritance yet still provides the practicality of an everyday family car. more Trim Levels The 2023 WRX comes in four trim levels that allow plenty of flexibility in how you shape your car to your individual requirements. The entry model is the Base, with the top of the range being the GT, which includes several additional styling and performance features not on other models. In between are the Premium and Limited, each providing a slightly better spec from which to start your build. Styling Features The WRX has a natural sports look. The dark gray wheel and lower body moldings set off an aggressive front grille with a prominent air intake toward the front of the hood. 18-inch dark gray finished alloys on all but the Base complete the rally styling. Inside you will find performance or Recaro-designed front seats and a flat-bottomed, leather-clad steering wheel. There is also a 7-inch or 11.6-inch Starlink multimedia panel with Apple and Android connectivity for your infotainment needs. Engine Specifications The heart of the WRX is Subaru's mighty 2.4L, 4-cylinder turbo-charged Boxer engine, a unit fit for rallying. It can generate up to 271 hp and 258 lb-ft of torque. The engine is combined with a 6-speed, fully synchronized manual transmission or Subaru's Performance Transmission with an 8-speed manual shift mode, and these power a continuous or Variable Torque Distribution all-wheel-drive drivetrain. Sports Specifications With its rallying roots, the 2023 Subaru WRX is equipped with advanced chassis specifications to boost performance. One such feature is the Vehicle Dynamics Control system, which provides superior driving management. The system works through a series of sensors that monitor your wheel speeds and car position adjusting torque and brakes to help keep you on your intended line. Several other advanced sports features can also be added to your build, like SI-Drive, an intelligent driving management system that you can set the way you want your vehicle to perform. The feature can automatically adjust the throttle and transmission shifts to maintain optimum performance. Safety Features With so much power, safety plays an important role, and with the Subaru WRX, you are wrapped in a number of features, both passive and active, to protect you. Standard across the range is a 4-wheel antilock braking system and a series of advanced airbag configurations. Technology also plays a vital role, with Subaru's EyeSight Driver Assist technology (standard on the GT) available as an option. If you want a genuine rally-specced vehicle to go with your daily driving requirements, the 2023 WRX is a car that you need to try out immediately. blue 2023 Subaru BRZ

A First Look at the New 2023 Subaru BRZ

Subaru's BRZ has everything you could want in a lightweight sports car: an eager engine, telepathic steering, and perfect ergonomics. Despite its nature as an enthusiast vehicle, the coupe also excels as an everyday driver, with 2+2 seating and a surprising amount of storage room. Better yet, the whole package is available at a bargain price. Check out the 2023 Subaru BRZ! more Powertrain Powering the BRZ is the iconic 2.4L Subaru Boxer engine developing 228 horsepower and 184 lb-ft of torque. A 6-speed manual transmission with full synchronization and incline start assist makes the drive thoroughly engaging, but a 6-speed automatic transmission can be just as fun when you switch on manual mode and click through the gears yourself. As long as you do your part, the car is easily capable of 0 to 60 times in well under six seconds. Nicely complementing the drivetrain is a standard Torsen limited-slip differential, helping to eliminate wheelspin over low-traction surfaces. Typically, this high level of powertrain performance comes at the cost of fuel efficiency, but the car has been rated by the EPA at an impressive 30 highway MPG. Chassis Where the BRZ really shines is at the track and twisty backroads. That's because its wonderfully designed chassis is so nimble with sport-tuned 4-wheel independent suspension, comprising of a double wishbone rear suspension and a front suspension with a strut and stabilizer bar. Steering is well weighted and provides the right amount of feedback, so that you're instantly aware of any direction changes that the car is making. Aided by electronic brakeforce distribution and powerful ventilated front and rear brakes, the BRZ stops just as quickly as it accelerates. Interior Just as you'd expect from a serious performance car's interior, it's very driver-focused with deeply bolstered sport seats, vehicle controls that never require any stretching to reach, and a highly customizable instrument panel that can display lateral Gs and acceleration. Both the Premium and Limited trims come with a leather-wrapped steering wheel and dual-zone automatic climate control, but the latter also adds heated seats and Ultrasuede upholstery. Though the BRZ remains a compact vehicle, there's an interior volume of 83.5 cubic feet, so there's plenty of room to fit a week's worth of groceries, especially when the rear seats are folded down. Infotainment Even more convenience is available through the standard 8-inch Starlink Multimedia Plus touchscreen, which offers cloud-based applications, smartphone integration, Bluetooth hands-free, and two USB ports. SiriusXM satellite radio and HD Radio provide hours of listening entertainment. Limited models are available with Subaru Starlink Safety and Security Plus services, which enable remote engine start and climate control activation, roadside assistance, and automatic emergency services notification in the event of an accident. Get the Most out of Your Tires: Tire Rotation Tips for Covina Drivers

Drivers in Covina know that maintaining their vehicle is crucial for ensuring that it runs smoothly and safely, and one of the essentials of maintenance is tire rotation. To rotate your tires, you simply move your vehicle's tires from one position to another so that each tire wears evenly over time. Get the most out of your tires by remembering the following tips! more Check Your Owner's Manual Checking your car's owner's manual is essential when it comes to rotating your tires. The manual will provide you with the rotation pattern for your vehicle. The correct rotation pattern ensures even wear on your tires and can extend their lifespan, so it's important to use the right one. Which pattern you need to use will depend on whether your vehicle is front-wheel drive or rear-wheel drive, and whether you have directional or non-directional tires. Inspect Your Tires and Perform Maintenance It's important to inspect your tires before rotation. Look for signs of damage, such as cuts, punctures, or bulges. Uneven wear or tear may indicate a problem with your car's alignment or suspension, which will require attention. Don't hesitate to seek help from a professional mechanic in these cases, to examine your tires, figure out the issue, and recommend the best solution. It's Crucial To Rotate Your Tires Regularly It's recommended that you have your tires rotated every 5,000 to 7,500 miles, or as recommended by your vehicle's manufacturer. Regularly rotating your tires helps to ensure that they last as long as possible. When you rotate your tires, you're basically moving each tire to a different position on your vehicle. This helps each tire to wear evenly over time, rather than just wearing down on one side due to its position. This even wear pattern can help extend the lifespan of your tires and save you money in the long run. They have less resistance on the road, too, resulting in better fuel efficiency. By keeping up with regular rotations, you'll not only extend the lifespan of your tires but also enjoy better handling and lower fuel costs. Monitoring Tire Pressure Is One of the Essentials You need to check your tire pressure regularly, at least once a month, and always before you take a long road trip. The right pressure levels can be found in your owner's manual or on a sticker located inside the driver's side door. Properly inflated tires not only extend the life of your tires but also help improve your vehicle's fuel efficiency. By rotating your tires regularly, you ensure that each tire wears evenly, extends its lifespan, and improves fuel efficiency. Not sure how to rotate your tires? Don't worry! Contact Puente Hills Subaru today to schedule professional tire service.

alternator on a car

3 Signs Your Subaru Needs an Alternator Repair

Your Subaru has a huge variety of systems and devices that make driving easier and more comfortable than ever before. All of these systems depend on electricity, and it's your alternator's job to provide this power. The alternator runs continually from the time your engine starts and quietly generates the necessary electricity. It will eventually become worn or damaged, and you'll need to visit your Subaru dealer for an alternator repair. These are signs your alternator could be in trouble. more Damaged Wiring The electricity produced by your alternator has to be carried to every component and system in your car. A copious amount of cables and wires run throughout your car, and they have to be carefully protected. Electrical wiring is delicate, and a car engine isn't an ideal place for wires. Heat and slight movements are two of the problems wiring must contend with. Wiring will gradually degrade over time, and this can cause it to break. Broken wiring won't conduct electricity, and this cuts off power to the components the wire is connected to. Electricity will continue to flow through the broken wire, and it will heat up. The protective covering around wires can burn if they get too hot and this produces toxic fumes. We can examine your wiring and replace any worn or damaged sections. Old Alternator An alternator has a useful life of approximately eight years before it needs replacement. When an alternator gets older, it gradually produces less electricity. This occurs due to aged and worn-out parts. Worn components move slower, and electrical production will drop. A failing alternator isn't easy to identify, but eventually, it won't be able to produce enough power for all your systems. If you suspect an alternator problem, we can examine it to determine its power-generating capability. We can easily replace a worn alternator, and your car's electrical supply will return to normal. Electrical Glitches Random electrical problems can occur at any time, and for no obvious reason. They are the result of an unexpected or diverted electrical charge. In the vast majority of cases, these problems aren't significant as they won't reoccur. If you're experiencing frequent electrical problems, you could have a worn alternator. As we've seen, a worn alternator doesn't produce the level of power it once did. Eventually, the failing alternator won't produce enough power for all your car's systems. When this happens, your computer will allocate the available power to satisfy the demand. A jammed sunroof, malfunctioning AC controls, or a seat heater that doesn't work could all be signs of an alternator problem. We can easily replace a failing alternator to fix this problem. If your car has an alternator problem, call us right away at Puente Hills Subaru.
