It’s that time of year again! Summer is here, and there’s no better way to celebrate the season than attending amazing festivals and events around Los Angeles and City of Industry, CA. 1. July 4th Fireworks Spectacular
The annual July 4th Fireworks Spectacular at the Hollywood Bowl at 2301 North Highland Avenue is a favorite tradition and southern California’s top Independence Day pyrotechnic display.
Starting July 2 at 7:30 p.m., the Firework Spectacular will light up the sky for three nights of awe-inspiring fireworks and entertainers, such as Steve Martin and Martin Short, and music by the Hollywood Bowl Orchestra and chart-toppers from The Beach Boys.
2. Venice Summer Fest
Join the festivities in downtown Mar Vista at the fantastic Venice Summer Fest on Saturday, June 24, between noon and 8 p.m. Gather your family and leased pooch and celebrate summer along Venice Boulevard playing fun games, shopping for unique arts and crafts, admiring classic cars, listening to live music from local bands, dancing, and savoring delicious food.
3. The 42nd Lotus Festival
Celebrate summer with the people of Asia and the Pacific Islands at the 42nd Lotus Festival on July 15 from noon to 8 p.m. at Echo Park Lake at 751 Echo Park Avenue, when the lotuses are in full bloom. The Lotus Festival, hosted by Indonesia this year, is a tribute to several Asian cultures, featuring traditional art, music, dance, and food. Admire the intricate arts and crafts, watch the dragon boat races, and enjoy wonderful cultural activities.
4. Hollywood Carnival
This year’s Hollywood Carnival at 6800 Hollywood Boulevard between June 22 and June 25 promises to be more exciting than ever before. The carnival is a celebration of the diverse cultures and traditions that make up the city’s community. The festivities transform Hollywood Boulevard into a colorful extravaganza with masquerades and parades.
There will be appearances by famous actors and musicians, and an opportunity to see stunning costumes that represent various cultures, listen to traditional music, and savor authentic cuisine from every corner of the globe.
5. Nisei Week Japanese Festival
Head to the historic Little Tokyo District between August 12 and 20 for the 80th Nisei Week Japanese Festival, a spectacular nine-day event and one of the longest-running cultural festivals in the country.
Immerse yourself in Japanese and Japanese American culture with live traditional music, entertainment, and authentic Japanese cuisine. Have plenty of fun watching the Grand Parade of Japanese floats, dancers, and musicians through the streets of Little Tokyo.
