Regular inspections of this fluid are necessary to ensure it is clean and working as it should, but a full flush and replacement are usually only needed after 137,500 miles or 11 years.

Automatic Transmission Fluid

CVT Fluid

Differential Gear Oil

Almost all Subaru vehicles use front and rear differential gear oil that protects the symmetrical all-wheel drive system from wear and tear, keeping the wheels spinning. This fluid should be inspected every 30 months or 30,000 miles. An exception is the Subaru BRZ which only uses rear differential gear oil. This vehicle requires gear oil inspections every 12 months or 12,000 miles with full flushes and replacement every four years or 60,000 miles.
