The Subaru name is synonymous with rallying, and the 2023 Subaru WRX brings this history to a road car. This rally-inspired sedan has been styled and set up to mirror the vehicles of its racing inheritance yet still provides the practicality of an everyday family car.
Trim Levels
The 2023 WRX comes in four trim levels that allow plenty of flexibility in how you shape your car to your individual requirements. The entry model is the Base, with the top of the range being the GT, which includes several additional styling and performance features not on other models. In between are the Premium and Limited, each providing a slightly better spec from which to start your build.
Styling Features
The WRX has a natural sports look. The dark gray wheel and lower body moldings set off an aggressive front grille with a prominent air intake toward the front of the hood. 18-inch dark gray finished alloys on all but the Base complete the rally styling.
Inside you will find performance or Recaro-designed front seats and a flat-bottomed, leather-clad steering wheel. There is also a 7-inch or 11.6-inch Starlink multimedia panel with Apple and Android connectivity for your infotainment needs.
Engine Specifications
The heart of the WRX is Subaru’s mighty 2.4L, 4-cylinder turbo-charged Boxer engine, a unit fit for rallying. It can generate up to 271 hp and 258 lb-ft of torque. The engine is combined with a 6-speed, fully synchronized manual transmission or Subaru’s Performance Transmission with an 8-speed manual shift mode, and these power a continuous or Variable Torque Distribution all-wheel-drive drivetrain.
Sports Specifications
With its rallying roots, the 2023 Subaru WRX is equipped with advanced chassis specifications to boost performance. One such feature is the Vehicle Dynamics Control system, which provides superior driving management. The system works through a series of sensors that monitor your wheel speeds and car position adjusting torque and brakes to help keep you on your intended line.
Several other advanced sports features can also be added to your build, like SI-Drive, an intelligent driving management system that you can set the way you want your vehicle to perform. The feature can automatically adjust the throttle and transmission shifts to maintain optimum performance.
Safety Features
With so much power, safety plays an important role, and with the Subaru WRX, you are wrapped in a number of features, both passive and active, to protect you. Standard across the range is a 4-wheel antilock braking system and a series of advanced airbag configurations. Technology also plays a vital role, with Subaru’s EyeSight Driver Assist technology (standard on the GT) available as an option.
If you want a genuine rally-specced vehicle to go with your daily driving requirements, the 2023 WRX is a car that you need to try out immediately. Book a test drive by visiting us at Puente Hills Subaru today, where we will set one up to suit your diary.
