The 2023 Subaru Solterra is an all-electric SUV that's capable and fun to drive. In addition to its all-electric efficiency and rugged capabilities, the Solterra gives you a luxurious cabin full of comfort and connectivity features. You can also take advantage of advanced safety technology, and you'll love turning heads with the Solterra's exquisite exterior design.
Trim Levels (Exterior)
The 2023 Solterra lineup consists of three thrilling trims, starting with the Premium, which features multi-beam LED headlights, heated exterior mirrors, and 18-inch aluminum-alloy wheels featuring black and silver wheel covers. On the Limited, you'll find LED fog lights, roof rails, and a split-design roof spoiler with aerodynamic fins. This model also features 20-inch aluminum-alloy wheels with a gray machined finish and silver-finished spoke inserts. The Touring adds a panoramic glass roof with a power sunshade and has power-folding mirrors with integrated turn signals and entry illumination.
Engine (Power)
No matter what Solterra model you choose, you'll enjoy Subaru's StarDrive all-electric drivetrain, which is capable of producing 215 horsepower and 249 pound-feet of torque. The Premium has a 228-mile driving range, while the Limited and Touring have a 222-mile driving range. All Solterra models are compatible with any standard 120-volt outlet, or you can install a 240-volt charger in your home. You can also use any public DC fast charging station when you're on the go.
Performance
Every 2023 Solterra comes equipped with Subaru's symmetrical all-wheel-drive system, which creates uniform stability and delivers an optimal torque distribution for maximum traction and confident handling. Engaging the Solterra's X-Mode setting optimizes drivetrain output, increases all-wheel-drive engagement, and reduces wheel spin on low-traction surfaces. Regenerative braking sends excess braking energy back to the Solterra's battery, ensuring it stays charged on the road. You can also take advantage of selectable drive modes that can help conserve power or deliver on-demand torque when you want an even livelier drive.
Interior
The 2023 Solterra seats five and gives you a maximum cargo volume of 63.5 cubic feet when you fold the rear seats flat. The Premium features cloth seating surfaces, while the Limited and Touring come with StarTex upholstery, which looks and feels like leather but is more durable. Available amenities include a 10-way power-adjustable driver's seat, a wireless smartphone charger, and a heated steering wheel. All Solterra models support Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, with the Premium featuring an 8-inch touchscreen and upper trims getting a 12.3-display with built-in navigation.
Safety Features
With the 2023 Subaru Solterra, you get a pre-collision system that can detect vehicles and pedestrians as they enter your path and apply the brakes when it senses an impending collision. A lane-departure alert will warn you of unintentional drifting and use corrective steering if you can't react in time. When a vehicle enters your Solterra's blind-spot zones, you'll receive a notification from the blind-spot monitor, while a rear cross-traffic alert warns you of approaching traffic when driving in reverse. Automatic high-beam assistance automatically dims your high-beam headlights, and parking support brakes help you avoid objects in crowded parking lots.
