With the 2023 Legacy, you can choose from five trim levels: Base, Premium, Limited, Sport, and Touring XT. The Base and Premium trims come with 17-inch wheels and all-season tires. Engine (Power)
The Base, Premium, and Limited have a 2.5-liter, four-cylinder Subaru Boxer engine with 182 horsepower and 176 pound-feet of torque. With the Sport and the Touring XT, you'll get a turbocharged, 2.4-liter engine that offers 260 horsepower and 277 pound-feet of torque. Both options use a continuously variable transmission (CVT) with an eight-speed manual mode and paddle shifters for the steering wheel.
Performance
With the Base, all-wheel drive is standard. You'll also get electronic stability control, traction control, maneuverable and responsive power steering, independent suspension, and an 18.5-gallon fuel tank. With the 2.5-liter engine, you can go 27 mpg in urban areas and 35 mpg on the highway. With the turbocharged option, you'll get 23 mpg in traffic and 31 mpg on larger roads. This car has a smooth, comfortable ride and can handle tough trails. It's also very reliable. According to Subaru, more than 95% of Subaru Legacy vehicles sold in the last 10 years are still on the road.
Interior
The Legacy Base comes with 15.1 cubic feet of trunk space, folding rear seats, and Bluetooth, audio, and adaptive cruise controls on the steering wheel. You'll also get an overhead sunglasses holder, a 7-inch multi-touch gesture display, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and SiriusXM satellite radio. With the Premium and the Sport, you'll get a 10-way power driver's seat with lumbar support. The Premium and higher trims also have heated front seats, a leather-wrapped wheel and shift handle, dual-zone climate control, an 11.6-inch multi-touch gesture display, and Wi-Fi capability. The Limited and the Touring XT have 12-way power driver's seats with memory settings and eight-way power passenger seats.
Safety Features
With the 2023 Legacy, the EyeSight Driver Assist Technology includes adaptive cruise control, pre-collision braking, lane departure and sway warning, lane-keeping assistance, and automatic emergency steering. You'll also get a rearview camera and an anti-theft system with an engine immobilizer. With the Premium, blind-spot detection, rear cross-traffic alert, and lane-changing assistance are optional. The Premium comes with automatic collision notification and enhanced roadside assistance. With the Limited, you can add the DriverFocus Distraction Mitigation System. The Limited also has reverse automatic braking that stops the vehicle if it detects an obstacle. The Touring XT has a 180-degree front-view monitor.
