2023 Subaru Crosstrek

You can choose from five trim levels: Base, Premium, Sport, Limited, and Hybrid. The 2023 Crosstrek Base trim comes with roof rails, an angular grille with the Subaru emblem in the middle, sculpted sides, a sculpted hood, angular headlights, 17-inch alloy wheels, all-season tires, and 8.7 inches of ground clearance. The Premium and higher trims come with a windshield wiper de-icer and heated side mirrors. You can add a power moonroof that blocks 95% of UV light. With the Limited and the Hybrid, you'll get 18-inch wheels, LED headlights and fog lights, and folding body-color side mirrors with turn signals. Optional exterior colors include Crystal Black Silica, Plasma Yellow Pearl, Cool-Gray Khaki, Horizon Blue Pearl, Magnetite Gray Metallic, Ice Silver Metallic, Crystal White Pearl, Pure Red, Desert Khaki, and Lagoon Blue Pearl.

The 2-liter, four-cylinder Subaru Boxer engine gives 152 horsepower and 145 pound-feet of torque. With the Sport and the Limited, you'll get a 2.5-liter engine that provides 182 horsepower and 176 pound-feet of torque. The Base and Premium trims come with a six-speed manual transmission, and the other trim levels have a continuously variable transmission.

The plug-in Hybrid can go about 17 miles on all-electric power. The CVT on the Sport and Limited trims includes an eight-speed manual mode with paddle shifters for the steering wheel. All-wheel drive, an independent suspension, and power steering are standard for all trims, and you can tow up to 1,500 pounds with all trims except the Hybrid, which can tow 1,000 pounds. With the 2-liter engine and the manual transmission, you'll get 22 mpg in the city and 29 mpg on the highway. With the 2.5-liter engine and the CVT, you can go 27 mpg in the city and 34 mpg on the highway. The Hybrid gets 90 MPGe combined. The fuel tank is 16.6 gallons with most trims, and the Hybrid has a 13.2-gallon tank.

With the rear seats folded, most trim levels have 55.3 cubic feet of cargo room. The Hybrid has 43.1 cubic feet of space. With the Base trim, you'll get sound control, Bluetooth connectivity, and cruise control for the steering wheel. The Premium and higher trims come with heated front seats and a leather-wrapped steering wheel. The Limited and the Hybrid come with a six-way power driver's seat, and it's optional with the Premium. With these trims, you can add an 8-inch touchscreen with navigation and an eight-speaker Harman Kardon sound system with a 432-watt amplifier. With all the trim levels, you can choose an auto-dimming rearview mirror with a HomeLink universal garage door opener and a compass.

Standard safety features with the Base include adaptive cruise control, lane centering, lane departure warning, lane-keeping assistance, and automatic emergency steering. With the Premium and higher trims, you'll also get lane change assist, rear cross-traffic alert, and blind spot detection. The Limited and the Hybrid have reverse automatic braking as well.
