Subaru's All-Weather Midsize Sedan, the Legacy, Gets a Refresh for 2018

The Subaru Legacy is a refined midsize sedan that offers great handling and a comfortable, roomy ride for up to five adults. It's also the only midsize sedan on the market that comes standard with all-wheel drive.

That makes it uniquely suited to anyone who regularly drives in rough weather, or would like a low-key four-door sedan that can invoke special off-road powers, should the need arise. The Legacy uses a continuously variable automatic transmission (CVT), with a manual shift mode (via steering-wheel-mounted paddle shifters. An incline start-assist system is now standard for 2018, along with Subaru’s hill-holder system. The 2018 Legacy has also had its suspension adjusted to reduce body roll, while the brakes are also firmer.
