Subaru Remanufactured Alternators
Since alternators are typically subjected to severe temperature extremes, dust and stress, restoring one to like-new condition requires total disassembly and complete cleaning. All major components are thoroughly tested for proper operation.
Any parts found to be out of OEM specification are replaced with new. Many external parts are replaced to provide maximum resistance to corrosion. After complete reassembly, the remanufactured alternator must pass thorough output power and "load" tests.
Front Housing Cleaned, inspected and retapped to Subaru specifications; replaced with new Genuine Subaru component as needed to return dimensional part to OEM specifications. (Properly installed housings with the drain hole correctly located allow moisture drainage.) |
Armature Continuity performance tested; replaced with new Genuine Subaru component as needed to meet OEM Subaru specifications. |
Pulley Checked for damage and refinished or replaced as required |
Bearings Replaced 100% with new Genuine Subaru front and rear bearings for long-life operation like a new unit. |
Stator 600 volt performance tested; replaced with new Genuine Subaru component as needed to confirm insulation integrity and help ensure that unit performs to Subaru specification. |
Terminals and Insulators Replaced 100% with new Genuine Subaru components to provide proper conductivity and insulation where needed to help prevent unit failure. |
Commutator Remachined to average 8 micron runout − maximum 20 micron. Avoids brush bounce and helps to provide consistent voltage output to ensure unit meets Subaru OEM specifications. |
